Nikola Šubić Zrinjski – opera in concert
Exactly 150 years after its premiere, Rijeka's national theatre performs Ivan Zajc's opera Nikola Šubić Zrinjski in concert, with Robert Kolar in the title role.
Nikola Šubić Zrinjski premiered at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb on November 4, 1876, so this concert performance in Rijeka falls on the opera's 150th anniversary to the day. Igor Vlajnić conducts the Rijeka Symphony Orchestra and the Rijeka Opera Chorus (chorus master Matteo Salvemini).
Robert Kolar sings the title role, joined by Kristina Kolar (Eva), Gabrijela Deglin (Jelena), Marko Fortunato (Lovro Juranić) and Slavko Sekulić (Suleiman the Magnificent).
Tickets on mojekarte.hr cost €19 in the balcony, €24 in the stalls and up to €29 in the boxes, plus a €1 order fee per ticket. The running time has not been announced. The orchestra is back at the theatre on November 20 for Zajc, Copland and Dvořák.
