Klape od Svetih
The first Klape od Svetih concert brings three klapa groups named after saints to the parish church of St Anthony of Padua in Crikvenica, and entry is free.
Two local groups perform: Klapa Sv. Jelena from Dramalj and Klapa Sv. Jakov from Jadranovo, whose names go back to the former names of their home villages. They are joined by guests from Kaštela, Klapa Sv. Jeronim. With All Saints' Day approaching, the programme features traditional klapa songs and spiritual chants.
The idea came from Marijana Bezić, who leads Klapa Sv. Jelena, while Frane Frleta, who leads Klapa Sv. Jakov, got the organisation going. The concert is organised by two cultural societies, KUD Jelena Dramalj and KUD Martin Matetić Jadranovo, under the patronage of the City of Crikvenica. This first edition takes the form of a concert meeting, but the organisers want Klape od Svetih to grow into a regular festival for klapa and vocal groups from across Croatia that are named after saints.
The official poster states that entry is free. The end time has not been announced. For more events with no ticket needed, see free nights out in Rijeka and Kvarner.
