How to Plan a Party in Rijeka

A good party starts with a clear plan. This guide takes you from choosing a date and venue to promotion, with a live look at dates that currently have no events in our calendar.

Whether you are planning a student party, club night, concert or public birthday celebration, start with the people you want to bring together and the reason for the event. Once you know the audience and atmosphere, it is easier to choose the venue, programme and budget.

1. Choose a date and check the calendar

Check the event calendar before confirming performers or announcing a date. An evening with fewer competing listings may make it easier for guests, artists and staff to attend. Below are dates in the next eight weeks when rijeka.party currently has no event listed.

2. Set the format, capacity and venue

Write down the basic format: club night, concert, daytime party, student event or private celebration. Estimate attendance, available budget, location, public transport and how people will get home. Confirm the venue’s capacity, technical equipment, accessibility, food and drink rules, and the time the programme must end.

3. Make a simple budget

Include the venue, performers and equipment, security or other staff, promotion, ticketing and a contingency for unexpected costs. Separate fixed costs from costs per guest. If you expect ticket income, confirm deadlines, fees and refund conditions with the venue and ticketing provider before announcing a price.

4. Confirm the programme and responsibilities

Confirm agreements with performers in writing: date, schedule, fee, technical needs, promotion and cancellation arrangements. Name a production lead and a contact for guests. Plan for crowd flow, first aid, safety, accessibility and bad weather for outdoor events. Check current requirements for permits, noise, public spaces, safety and music rights with your venue and the relevant authorities; do not assume that listing an event fulfils those obligations.

5. Publish the details people need

A useful announcement says what is happening, who it is for, the exact date and start time, location, price or ticket link, age limits and organiser contact. If a detail is not confirmed yet, say so and update it when it is known.

Submit the event to rijeka.party to get a bilingual event page and a place in the calendar. Share that link through channels where your audience already follows you, the performers and venue. Update all announcements if the schedule or programme changes.
