Grč
Grč played their very first show at Palach in 1983, and in the year they mark 44 years as a band they return to that stage with a new live album on vinyl.
Grč formed in 1982 and played their first show at Palach on March 10, 1983. The lineup has changed over the decades, but frontman Zoran Štajdohar Zoff has been there throughout. The set covers the whole discography, from the debut Sloboda narodu (1987) through Još ima krvi (2008) to Nek' padaju glave (2016). It includes Krv je moje svjetlo i moja tama, a setting of Ivan Goran Kovačić's poem Jama (The Pit). There will be newer songs too, and the show comes with the art performances that earned the band its cult status.
The band brings its new live album Harmonija Spazmofilija, recorded with a section of the Rijeka Symphony Orchestra conducted by Zoran Majstorović. The recording took place at Rijeka's fish market for the closing of Rijeka 2020 – European Capital of Culture. It is Grč's first live album on vinyl, and copies will be on sale at Palach. The Ri Rock association is organising the concert. Presale tickets cost €10 until November 19, and tickets on the day cost €14.
The next night Palach hosts A Ride On Heavy Metal II. For more on the venue and the bands that shaped the city, see the Klub Palach page and our guide to Rijeka's rock scene.
