Rijeka Carnival 2027
The Rijeka Carnival is the city's biggest event: weeks of masked parties, a children's parade and the great international parade on the Korzo. The official 2027 programme is not out yet.
How the carnival season works
The season opens with the handover of the city key to the carnival master, and peaks with the international carnival parade. For comparison, in 2026 the key was handed over on January 17, the children's parade was on January 31 and the international parade on February 15, the Sunday before Ash Wednesday.
Ash Wednesday 2027 falls on February 10, but the official dates will come from the organiser; until then we do not list them as confirmed. We will update this guide as soon as the programme is published.
Confirmed carnival events in Kvarner
Carnival outside Rijeka
Carnival is celebrated across Kvarner: Crikvenica Carnival runs from January 9 to February 10, 2027 in the tent on Trg Stjepana Radića, and we add other confirmed programmes from Opatija to Kastav as they are announced.
We write the guides ourselves; their event lists are generated from the verified rijeka.party registry.
